D Y Patil University was established in 2002 with a vision to provide quality education in all spheres of high learning and health services in IndiaPhysiotherapy as a profession has grown by leaps and bounds over last few decades. It has spread its wings in all branches of medical sciences, be it orthopedics, neurology, cardiology, pulmonary conditions, intensive care units, obesity, sports medicine, surgery, medicine, burns, cancer, community health. Physiotherapy is concerned with identifying and maximising quality of life and movement potential within the spheres of promotion, prevention, treatment/intervention and rehabilitation. This encompasses physical, psychological, emotional, and social well being. Physiotherapy involves the interaction between the therapist, patients, other health professionals, families, caregivers, and communities in a process where movement potential is assessed and goals are agreed upon, using knowledge and skills unique to physical therapists.
