Shimoga Institute of Medical Science (SIMS) is an autonomous institution of Government of Karnataka which was started in the year of 2005 in the city Shimoga. The institute covers a total land area of 50 Acres. Direct Admission for MBBS Under Management Quota in Shimoga Institute of Medical Sciences. Direct Quota Admission Shimoga Institute of Medical Sciences. It is affiliated by the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS), Bangalore and approved by the Medical Council of India (MCI). SIMS offers Doctorate of Medicine (MD) courses in the field of Anatomy, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Pharmacology, Physiology and Preventive & Social Medicine and Diploma courses in the field of Operation Theatre Technology, Medical Laboratory Technology, Medical Records Technology and Ophthalmic Technology. The admissions under institute are based upon the State and National Level Entrance Tests. Hostel facility is available for its students.
